There will be no National Costume Competition this year! Apparently, no winner will be declared rather, the contestants will be wearing their national costumes on the pre-recorded finale intro! This frustrates me, honestly, there are quiet a number of fabulous costumes this year so I was hoping that Miss Universe Organization was able to squeeze in a public event for the national costume. Remember the National Costume Competition of Miss Universe 2007?

I wished they would have allowed time during the telecast to showcase more of these. It’s so interesting to see the different interpretations of costumes from each country. Some appear to look like wedding dresses and nurses uniforms. But I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In this case, the pageant designer for each country.
