Leila Lopes (Miss Universe 2011) Appointed as Drylands Ambassador

I wonder what Miss Earth is thinking with this appointment?!?

The reigning Miss Universe – Leila Lopes of Angola – was named as the Dryland Ambassador by the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).

Along with Dr. Dennis Garrity (Director General of the World Agroforestry Centre), Deborah Fraser (South African Gospel Singer) and Carlos Marchena (Spanish football star), Leila Lopes was appointed to take a lead in raising awareness of land degradation, its causes and possible solutions.

This is so huge for Leila and we would like to congratulate her for another milestone. This only proves that there are more to just winning the title! Go now Leila and thank you for accepting the role! Cheers…
