Leila Lopes (Miss Universe 2011) – Woman of the Hour

The reigning Miss Universe, Leila Lopes, is such a busy bee. She is definitely The Woman of the Hour with such a busy schedule.

As I posted here, Leila attended the amfAR New York Gala which honored designer Roberto Cavalli. Here is Leila with the fashion icon – Roberto Cavalli:

Finally, Leila is on the cover of New African Woman. She is the cover girl for the magazine’s February/March 2012 issue. Mind you, Leila was smokin’ hot on that cover!

Here is a short excerpt of Leila’s interview from New African Woman magazine:

Congratulations on winning Miss Universe! How do you feel?

Leila Winning: this competition means more to me than you’ll ever know. It’s a dream come true and without a doubt my biggest achievement to date. It’s a life-changing opportunity for anyone, and as an African woman I feel undoubtedly blessed that I can show the world the true beauty of my continent.

Why did you decide to enter the competition?

Ever since I was a little girl I had always dreamed of competing in the Miss Universe Pageant. It is a once in a lifetime experience and what makes it even better is I can now use my beauty as a tool for goodwill.

It must take a lot of work to keep looking good?

I admit I take very good care of my body on a daily basis, which can be quite tough! It was especially challenging while preparing for the pageant in Brazil, as I was constantly surrounded by delicious food, but I was careful to eat small portions and continue to work out to keep my figure in check.

Then, Leila flew to South Africa and attended the launch of the Johannesburg Fashion Week 2012.
