Miss Universe 2009 (24th Update): “The Rise of Africa”

Africa is the second-largest and second-most populous continent after Asia. However, there are only a handful of countries represented in Miss Universe yearly. This is also the reason why we can only count the placements of African countries, probably except South Africa, in the said contest. As a pageant lover, I’ve been seeing improvements with the quality of African delegates recently. For example, Africa sent Micaela Reis (Angola), who had superb performances in Miss Universe and in Miss World and Flaviana Matat (Tanzania) – who made waves in Miss Universe. This year is not an exemption with the presence of gorgeous beauties in Miss Universe! I really hope that I will soon see an African beauty wearing the Miss Universe crown.
