We are on our last two awards for Kattera Awards 2013! The ultimate award – The GrandSlam Queen of the Year – will be announced on the day that we celebrate our 4th year anniversary on January 29! Before that, let me announce the ladies who won in the Catwalk of the Year category. This is by far the most difficult to judge because of each candidate had her own catwalk style and it would be unfair to compare them merely on the sway of their hips. Another concern that I had to take into consideration was the fact that there were a lot of ladies who excelled in this department. Thank God, after 3 looong weeks and after hundreds of videos, I arrived into these four:
4th Placer: Nicole Schmitz of The Philippines (Miss International 2012)

Yes, this is a personal favorite! Nicole’s catwalk is one of the main reasons why I am crazy with her! Her catwalk is sassy and snappy! Her turn in 0:08 was so good that you’ll get hooked, I promise!
3rd Placer: Tereza Fajksova of Czech Republic (Miss Earth 2012)

My apologies for the quality of the video but this video captures what I want you to see on Tereza’s catwalk (see 3:43 – 4:01). Her catwalk is charismatic and is full of personality. She started with a lot of kisses for the crowd to diver the attention from her to her audience (this is a tactic to avoid looking down while going down the stairs) then she started getting serious! That snap at the end of the runway while holding her hair was the highlight! It was a very smart move to hold her hair so that it will not cover her face when she turns. The goal is for the judges to see her face before she exits.
2nd Placer: Irene Esser of Venezuela (Miss Universe 2012)

A compilation of best catwalks will never be complete without a Miss Venezuela. Generally, Venezuelan Glamazons are so good in catwalk that I don’t even try to check if they are indeed good or bad – it’s an instinct already. What separates Irene from other Venezuela queens last year was how at ease she was with her catwalk. It seems that she wasn’t in a competition. She will giggle, she will tilt her head to the left and she will smile like there is no tomorrow. However, you will see that it’s all business with her from neck down! That sexy body grinds and glides to the rhythm of the competition! I specifically love her evening gown performance above! With the perfect catwalk, she made her very heavy gown look like a feather lite! Perfect, just perfect!

I am declaring her as my favorite catwalk for 2012 because I am addicted with her catwalk. Hers is calculated and generic BUT beautiful, elegant and is of someone with utmost confidence on her capabilities. I am also telling anyone who is planning to join a beauty pageant to “study and dissect” Mariana’s catwalk… It’s of great quality!
