El Salvador is a country that is consistent in sending candidates to major beauty pageants. I can say that beauty pageants thrive well in this Central American country. It hosted Miss Universe 1975 and been sending delegates to the pageant since 1953. Despite this, the country’s highest placement in the pageant is only 1st runner-up and this was still in 1955.
Last year, Ana Yancy Clavel had the opportunity to represent El Salvador. Sadly, Ana failed to move after the finale’s first cut! Now, the country is again in the quest for a new queen. 15 lovely finalists were selected and their representative to Miss Universe 2013 and Miss World 2013 will be selected this Friday – April 26. Let us meet the finalists!
