The national pageant season is well on its way here in the Philippines. It is not very different in most countries around the globe as each is busy crowning their official delegates to the biggest international beauty pageants in the world 🙂
With the coronation of Jamie Herrell last Sunday, the country now has 3 out of the 4 representatives to the major beauty pageants this year. Jamie will be representing us in Miss Earth 2014 🙂 Last year’s Top 8 finish was underwhelming for most fans as we are used to seeing our candidates in the Top 4. Will Jamie be successful in her quest for the second Earth crown?
Before March 2014 ended, the country’s representative to Miss Universe 2014 and Miss International 2014 were crowned. Mary Jean “MJ” Lastimosa faces the biggest challenge of bringing the Universe title back to the country after 40 long and painful years. Bianca Guidotti also faces an uphill battle as she will try a back-t0-back win in Japan – which is something that have not happened yet!
While the three ladies are busy preparing for the biggest fight of their lives, our attention shifts to the last national pageant to elect a representative to a major pageant. I am referring to Miss World Philippines 2014 which will now start the search for the lady who will follow the steps of the reigning Miss World – Megan Young! Such a tough act to follow BUT I am excited to meet the ladies who will try to step up to the plate!
